This listing is for a screen, display, and backlight repair service for Ludlum 9DP ion chambers and similar Ludlum ion chamber instruments with damaged, faded, hard to read, dim, or non functional screens.

This service is intended to restore normal screen readability and backlight function so the instrument can be used more easily in normal lighting and low light conditions.

You will have to send your meter in for this service. Service is performed in the Houston, Texas area. Once received, the unit will be evaluated and repaired if the issue is within the scope of this listing.

If your unit requires extensive repair beyond the screen, display, or backlight issue, you will be contacted with the estimated cost before any additional work is performed. If you decline the additional repair, your meter will be returned to you with only shipping charged.

In many cases, Ludlum 9DP and similar ion chamber instruments with screen, display, or backlight issues can be restored for far less than the cost of replacement. This service is intended to restore normal readability and function of the display system.

Turnaround time for a basic repair is typically about 1 week from time of arrival.

Optional third party calibration is available for an additional charge. Ion chamber instruments require proper dose rate calibration using appropriate equipment and procedures. These units are not pulse calibrated like standard count rate survey meters.

If calibration is requested, the unit can be sent to a qualified third party calibration provider after repair. Calibration cost and added turnaround time will be quoted separately.
